After reading your post, I attempted to restart Guadalcanal from the first Guadalcanal checkpoint to see if I could reacquire the Guadalcanal medals (I originally earned them during a full playthrough), but my previous Guadalcanal medals were still saved which prevented this. I haven't tested it myself, but it should include the fixes from the official 1.2 pak9.rez won't retroactively unlock the Guadalcanal medals you have to complete all 8 of the Guadalcanal hidden objectives again (because completion status for some of the hidden objectives was failing to trigger in the first place). Note: If you use Universal Extractor 2 instead of the original Universal Extractor, once you've extracted the CAB archive, the "main" directory with the pak9.rez will be located in the "Patch_Files_Uninstallable" directory.Įdit: For anyone having issues with the method listed above, you might want to try the unofficial " Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault - Digital Patch" that was added to PCGamingWiki in March 2021. pak9.rez is the archive needed to fix the objectives issue. Within the contents of that cabinet archive is a directory named "main", and inside that directory are two LithTech Rez archives. Next, extract the contents of data1.cab (you can use Universal Extractor for this as well). Among the contents of the executable is a cabinet archive named data1.cab. Extract the contents of MOHPA_1_1_to_1_2.exe (I used Universal Extractor for this).

I have tested this on both the Origin and GOG versions-ĭownload the MOHPA_1_1_to_1_2.exe patch via the Wayback Machine's cache of, or via Mod DB or GameFront. I ask that EA please fully patch the Origin and GOG versions as well (using the existing fixes provided by the patches for the disc version). The disc version, if fully patched, does not have this issue. This affects both the Origin version and the GOG version. This prevents earning all the Guadalcanal medals (specifically the Silver Star, the Faciat Georgius, and the Legion of Merit). One of the issues the 1.2 patch addressed was the majority of hidden objectives for Guadalcanal failing to register when completed. Despite the game's executables being the most recent version (1.2), not all the game files have been updated. At first glance, it appears the Origin version of Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault has been fully updated to patch 1.2.
